Mabuhay Guides takes 200 people on free tour
The Mabuhay Guides group conducted a free tour of old Manila — Fort Santiago, Casa Manila, San Agustin Church and San Agustin Museum — with almost 200 scholars and mentors from various schools in the Philippines last July 19, 2009, a day after the storm Isang. Mabuhay Guides shouldered the cost of the participants' entrance fees while guides waived their fees for the day.
According to Mabuhay guide Helen Grace Aranda, “I feel it is a privilege, perhaps even an honor, for our group to be able to contribute to shaping the minds of our country’s youth and to be making a difference in our country in our own small way.”
"Being a Mabuhay Guide is a privilege for me. Not everyone is given an opportunity to share with the foreign guests how beautiful our culture and our country is."
-Lourdes Reynoso
"Experiencing the richness and diversity of the Filipino culture is food for my soul. Guiding to share this acquired knowledge is a gift to be shared."
